Yevhen Korshunov
Yevhen Korshunov (b. 1989, Brovary) is a Ukrainian artist who works as a painter, sketcher, video artist, and land artist. In 2016, he graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Eugene works with mythmaking, local history, and absurdity. His visual world combines a conceptual origin, subtle irony, professional mastery of form and the ability to work with various types and genres of contemporary visual practice. A critical approach to the surrounding processes, the ability to notice essential nuances, and to transform the routine into the absurd allow the artist to create unique artistic content.
Eugene participated in exhibitions at the Mystetskyi Arsenal, "Ya Gallery", "Artsvit" gallery, Kharkiv Municipal Gallery, Lviv Municipal Art Center, Jam Factory Art Center, and Hlibzawod. He was an artist-in-residence: "Over God", Vinnytsia (2017), "Z.mist", Mariupol (2018), "Sorry No Rooms Available", Uzhhorod, (2019), "Coming Out of Isolation 2.0", IZOLYATSIA platform for cultural initiatives (2020), "Fantazers", Yasinia (2021), "Grounding", Soledar (2021), "Contemporary Art Rivne", Rivne (2021), land art symposium Mohrytsia (2017-2021).
