The First Week
The series "The First Week" was started literally in the first week of the war, in order to focus attention a little, to collect thoughts. Little was clear at the time. Everyone was preparing to meet the enemy, making Molotov cocktails and setting up roadblocks. Household items such as scissors or forks appear in the drawings. Could they become weapons? These artworks are about the fear, numbness, and anxiety of the first days of the war, about the awareness of the fragility of the body and life. Now the first week series is being transformed, but it continues. I feel that the title cannot be changed any more. The first week will last as long as the war lasts.
Works from the series have been presented at personal exhibitions in Vilnius and Berlin.
