Vasya Dmytryk

Vasya Dmytryk (b. 1991, Ivano-Frankivsk) is a Ukrainian sculptor. In 2016, he graduated from the Odesa Art School named after Mitrofan Grekov with a degree in "Sculpture" and began working with three-dimensional sculptures and installations. In his practice, he focuses on four main directions: spatial installations, kinetic sculpture, landscape sculpture, and ready-made objects. The artist creates sculptures and installations from recycled and discarded materials, wood, and metal. Collecting assemblages from objects, he finds connections between various materials and their original environment and shapes new semantic and contextual relations. Participated in the following residencies: "Fantazery", Yasonia (2021), "Transcarpathia: Inside and Outside", Uzhhorod (2021), Izolyatsia, Soledar (2020). Personal exhibitions: "Keep forever. Do not disclose", Odesa National Museum of Fine Arts, (2023), "Industrial fairytale", Dymchuk Gallery, Kyiv (2020). He lives and works in Odesa.
