#55
Overall, the zapotochi project is about the complex process of self-identity formation. It's an allegory of personality revealed in various visual patterns. Each character I created has its own story. I started the project in order to pay attention to the incredible value of every person and every life. And I could have never thought that my message would be transformed into mourning for the lost lives.
The #55 series was created on the 55th day of the full-scale war. These are collages consisting of glass, photos of ruined Ukrainian cities, and imitations of houses made of burnt cardboard. The characters on them are barely visible. They are ghosts. This series is a visualisation of my pain for those who are left without a home, without loved ones. And for those who are not with us anymore. These works are dedicated to everybody whose storyline was broken. They are about ruined lives, fear, and how much it hurts when the eyes light goes out.
