Nikita Kadan

Nikita (Mykyta) Kadan (b. 1982, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian artist. He has been an active member of R.E.P. (Revolutionary Experimental Space) since 2004, a co-founder of the curatorial group HUDRADA and a participant in its activities since 2008. A graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Kyiv, where he studied monumental painting. He works with installation, graphics, painting, wall drawings and often in an interdisciplinary collaboration with architects, human rights activists, or historians.
He had a large solo exhibition “Stone Hits Stone” at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv in spring 2021. In 2019, he had a major solo show at the MUMOK (Vienna). M HKA of Antwerp devoted a monographic exhibition to his work in 2017. He has participated in numerous biennials, notably in Venice in 2015 and 2017, Istanbul, Kyiv, Busan etc. He won the Pinchuk Art Centre Prize in 2011 and the Special Prize of the Future Generation Art Prize in 2014.
