Mykola Ridnyi
Mykola Ridnyi (b. 1985, Kharkiv) is a Ukrainian artist, filmmaker, and curator. He graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art. Ridnyi is a founding member of the artist collective SOSka group. He lives and works in Kyiv, Ukraine
Ridnyi works across media ranging from site-specific installations and sculpture to photography and experimental films. His way of reflection of social and political reality draws on the contrast between fragility and resilience of individual stories and collective histories.
His work is shown internationally at exhibitions, biennials and film festivals. Among them are: Akademie der Kunst in Berlin (2022), Internazionale Kurzfilmtage Winterhur (2020), 12th Kaunas biennale (2019), Bonniers konsthall in Stockholm (2017), Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich (2016), All The Worlds Futures — 56th Biennale di Venezia (2015), The School of Kyiv — Kyiv biennale (2015).
