Katya Buchatska
Katya Buchatska (b. 1987, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian artist. In her practices, she often works with the subject of time, applies the methods of media archaeology and uses the tactic of “soft” intervention in the environment (gallery, museum, or natural space). Works in various media: sculpture, installation, photography, and painting. She studied at École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Dijon, and in 2015, she graduated from the monumental painting department of the National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture, Kyiv. Selected projects: “A Very Personal Show”, The Naked Room, Kyiv (2020), “Photographs from the past year”, Mala gallery of Mystetskyi Arsenal, Kyiv (2019), Second Biennale of Young Art, Kharkiv Art Museum (2019). PinchukArtPrize 2020 and 2022 nominee (withdrawn from the award), resident of the Mohrytsia land art symposium. Since 2016, she has been working with people with autism spectrum disorders in the art studio "Maisternia Mozhlyvostei” (Ukr. “Workshop of Possibilities").
