What's in Your Head?
The “What's in your head?” project was created to capture the memories and images accompanying people during the Russia-Ukraine war. The photos were taken in November 2022 in Kharkiv. The main locations were the North Saltivka city district, the city centre, and the sports complex “Unifekht”, which belongs to V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The illustrations that complement the photos are intended to give emotions to the images of destruction and thus reproduce the images of war. The project aims to encourage viewers to think about the terrible results of war and the importance of compassion for the thoughts and emotions of those who no longer have homes, relatives, and their ordinary lives.
Photographer Inna Maksymenko expresses her thanks to Andriy Gan, Katya Shvets, Andriy Malusha, and Maksym Shevchenko for their help in creating the photo project.
