These graphic works are a reaction to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The first drawings were made in a notebook the second week after the evacuation from Kharkiv to Lviv. They became the only way to describe what was happening around. The works focus on the physiological sense of war. Hence, the main elements of all the artworks are anthropomorphic, stomach-like shapes. Previously, the artist featured the "stomach" image in the "Causes and Consequences of Fire" series. That one was about the premonition of war and constant anxiety about its escalation. "Anxiety itself is inextricably associated with a feeling in one’s gut that seems to twist you from the inside," the artist says. In the new series, which is no longer a premonition of war, but a reaction to it, stomach-like forms metamorphose and merge with other elements, emphasising the state of instability and anxiety even deeper.
