Shelter For Freedom

Technique:
Performance
Year:
2022

During the performance we enter the state of personal freedom and limitation, creating metaphorical protection with the voice, body and ritual.

Performance guidelines:

1
The location in the woods reminds me of a bunker, a shelter where people are hiding from rocket attacks during the war. The net is a symbol of a trap. Going under the net you metaphorically enter your wound. Here you go deep into the state of limitation, not being able to protect yourself. Explore the space under the net, moving slowly focusing on the feeling of the net as a border. Once realizing that you are trapped you start a process of healing.

2
Collect pieces of fabric from the ground and weave them into the net.
Weaving a camouflage creates metaphorical protection for your freedom. With every piece you take, think about the support you can give to yourself. Think about people in your life who are your support system. After gaining enough energy and strength go to stage 3.

3
Use your voice to express the feeling of freedom. Share a poem, a song or a story that comes from your culture. Your native language will help you to go back to your origin. Here you reveal your freedom, diversity and connection to your roots.
By healing yourself you transfer the energy of freedom to others.
